Slumber Party at Grandma's

Next week I'm going to be spending lots more time with Grandma. You see, Mom is going out of town, so Grandma will be watching me. I'm going to be sleeping at Grandma's overnight, like a slumber party. I hope Grandma is ready for me!

Mom's note: I hope Teddy will behave himself for the week. He has so much energy that I'm afraid he won't be able to burn it off, and might start misbehaving.

My Red Coat

This morning when we went out on our morning walk, I saw an old friend....SNOW!!! It was just a little bit, but I went crazy playing around in it.

Mom made me wear my red coat. I wore this coat when she first got me. We know I've grown, but just taller, not too much wider.

Short baby Teddy

New Haircut

Here I am with my new haircut. Do you think it was worth all the suffering?

I don't think so!!

Here I am from the other angle. Well, maybe I don't look that bad.

How does my back side look?

Is my tail still there?

Do I look cute?

Mom's note: Teddy really dug in his heels at the grooming salon. Unfortunately for him, the salon entranceway was tiled, so he scrambled around and couldn't get a grip with his toes. I gave him some Rescue Remedy beforehand. He seems to have recovered nicely from any trauma.

Groom Gloom

That pesky Mom decided that I need to be groomed again. She says my curls are getting too long. Every morning she tries to brush me, but I resist as much as possible.

Mom's note: Teddy is actually behaving better lately during our brushing sessions. He's getting used to it.

For some reason Mom thinks I need to be brushed every day. That's just nonsense. My bunny thinks so too.

Mom's note: Teddy's brushed look doesn't last for long. In a couple of hours, his curls start looking messy again. Hmmm...maybe he needs two brushings per day.

Angel Lesson in How to Play with Toys

Angel T-man has been stopping by to give me lessons in how to play with my toys. I used to just think toys were to be handled carefully, but T-man explained that toys are meant to be destroyed. Watch him showing me the example below.

Angel T-man destroying a toy

Teddy, do you see what I mean?

I get it T-man. See I've already started

My brand new cow lost its stuffing and squeaker

And I've made a nice fluffy floor

Mom's note: For some reason, Teddy has started to tear apart his stuffed toys, especially if they have an unusual squeaker in them. He tore apart his "mooing" cow immediately to retrieve the squeaker and decorate the floor. He must be learning these tricks from Angel T-man.

Snickers Angel

Our world may be a little darker this week, but heaven just got brighter.
We'll miss you Miss Snickers.

Getting Excited About Playing Football

I love the weekends, especially going to Grandma's in the afternoon to play football. Football is more fun to play when you can see the ball...it has been getting dark earlier so we can't play football when Mom gets home from work. (But we do play with our glow-in-the-dark ball!)

Here's a video of me getting excited about going to Grandma's to play football.

video

I'm also hoping you can stop by my friend Scarlet's website at the Animal Doctor to see what she wants most for Christmas. Scarlet can't walk at all, and she is hoping and praying for a doggie wheelchair this Christmas.

Please make my dreams of a wheelchair come true!!

My Garbage Can Addiction

One of my favorite indoor sports is stealing kleenex from the garbage can and shredding it up. I learned how to flip up the lid with my head to get inside. I like to leave big piles of kleenex around the house because they look so pretty.

Mom doesn't like my kleenex piles and tries to find more difficult to open garbage cans but I find a way to get inside them anyway.

See my technique

Sometimes Mom sneaks up on me and tries to catch me in the act. If that happens to you, the best thing is to stand really still and not move a muscle. If you do that, then you won't be seen and it will be OK.

Mom's note: I caught Teddy once in the act and he froze completely still while staring up at the ceiling even when I called to him. He didn't fool anyone.

Just try to look innocent

Don't let them see your eyes either

Goodbye Plushy Lady

Grandma is sad because her cat Sara went to the Rainbow Bridge this Wednesday. Sara had been losing weight and started peeing in the house so Grandma took her to the vet. The vet found a tumor in Sara's abdomen and recommended exploratory surgery. They went ahead with the surgery and found that the tumor had spread throughout Sara's intestines and liver. They said her chances of survival were slim. Grandma decided to let Sara pass to the Bridge and spare the painful and risky procedures.

Sara didn't get to go outside too often, but she was happy when she did.

She liked to explore, sometimes too far away from the house.

She loved to sit in her favorite chair and listen to the radio.

Mom had a nickname for Sara of "Plushy Lady" because of how soft she was. She was a flamepoint Siamese with blue eyes. She was really beautiful.

Leaves are Falling

Hi everyone!! It's the WEEKEND!! I love weekends. We can sleep in, take a long morning walk and play lots of football!! What's better than that?

Our leaves have been turning all yellow, orange and red, and they are falling off the trees. Mom says this is normal for this time of year, and they will grow back in the spring. I'm going to miss those leaves.

Here are some pictures from Grandma's back yard...

OK, enough pictures of leaves...it's time to play FOOTBALL!!

Mom's note: I bought a glow-in-the-dark ball for Teddy. It's a regular ball, not a football. I tested it out with him in the dark, and it works really well for him. Now we'll be able to play some ball when I get home from work.

Happy 20th Birthday CC-man!!

Hey everybody...time to ruffle your feathers and flap your wings because it's CC-man's 20th birthday today!!

He was born in October of 1989. Mom chose the 29th as his birthday, so that's what it is. He was adopted on December 31, 1989, the last day of the year.

It's MY day today!!

Mom and CC-man have been through a lot together, and he has been a really good companion to her all these years.

Now that CC-man is 20 years old, he should start acting like an adult. No more screaming and pooping on the floor. We'll see if that happens.

Happy Birthday CC-man!!!

The Answer Is....

Yesterday I gave you some hints about why I was so interested. Did you guess??

the answer is.....

FOOTBALL!!!

I love to play!!

Watch me go!!

Yup, the answer was that I got excited because Mom mentioned the word "football". It's my favorite game. We play just about every day.

Let's play some more

Do I hafta let go??

Mom's note: Teddy brightens up every time I say the word "football". Of course, I only mention it when we're on the way to Grandma's where we can play. Now that it's getting darker earlier, we don't have as many chances, though sometimes we do play football in the dark. I need to get him a glow-in-the-dark ball.

You may notice that Teddy's got on a long leash. Since he doesn't come when I call, I need it to help haul him inside when we're done playing.

Why am I Interested?

Try to guess why I look so interested in this photo...

1. I'm hoping to get a treat
2. Mom is getting out the vaccuum
3. Mom mentioned the word "football"

I'll tell you the answer tomorrow.

Funny Face

Sometimes Mom says I get funny faces. For example, she thinks this look is comical, especially when I stick my tongue out.

Actually, I'm practicing for Halloween to get a scary look. Don't you think it's a little bit frightening?? Or maybe I should show my teeth?

Toy Explosion

Hmm...another toy explosion..what to do...

Let's play!!

Mom's note: Some of my socks are in the mix of toys. Teddy thinks they are his toys too.

Getting Cold

Today was a cold day. It feels like winter is coming already. Mom has been wearing her winter coat and hat when we go for our walks. Soon I'll be wearing my coat outside too.

I miss sitting on our balcony in the sun. Summer, can you please come back again??

Mom's note: We're not ready for the cold again. It was a long winter last year.

CC-man on Weekdays

When Mom and I leave for work each morning, Mom puts CC-man in the bedroom where he can get some sunshine. She turns the radio on for him. He gets a good view of the trees and the deck with the flowers on it. Sometimes he can see birds out there.

The only problem is that CC-man kicks crumbs out of his cage onto the floor. Since I don't want Mom to get out the vaccuum monster, I'm more than happy to help clean up.

Bad Floods Go Away

I was very worried to hear that another big typhoon was heading towards our friends Scarlet, Jappy, Moy Moy, and Trudis at the Animal Doctor's in the Philippines. Their city had already suffered much from the first flooding of another storm this week. Fortunately, our friends were able to keep safe from that storm.

Update: We just saw in the news that this new typhoon has headed north and will not hit Manila directly. That is good news. We just hope there is no more flooding for our friends. Please keep you paws and wings crossed that they will stay safe. And please pray for all the poor animals (and people) that are not so fortunate.

Jumping Toys

I love my toys, especially when they are close by me. Since I move around a lot, my toys move with me and somehow end up all over the place. Silly Mom tries to "clean up" by putting them back in my toy basket, but my toys just jump out and follow me around. When will she learn?

Mom has also been using that vacuum monster that I hate so much. I have to bark and snap at it till it stops.

Mom's note: Teddy hates the vacuum so much that he even barks when the neighbors are vacuuming their own floors. He hates the dust buster too.

Farewell Summer

I've finally recovered from my agonizing grooming experience, and have learned to enjoy life again. During my recovery, I noticed my dear friend, Summer, slipping away from me. I've spent some time on our deck savoring the last glints of sunlight through the trees and the caress of summer's warm hand on my fur.

Mom's note: Teddy has been slightly melodramatic over his grooming, but he's still a puppy, so I'm humoring him. We're both sad to see summer retreat.

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Bye Bye Curly Teddy

Today was a sad sad day for me. Mom dropped me off at the dreaded groomers. The groomer dragged me into my cell and locked the door. After Mom paid him (for what, I ask?), she waved and talked to me. I couldn't help but cry for her to rescue me. Mom cried a bit too, but then she left me. Poop.

You can see what I think of this from my pictures. I'm NOT smiling today, Mom.

I'm not happy

Mom's note: Teddy was back to his old self after sleeping away the afternoon (while I worked at the office). He played football, ate all his dinner, and played at home all evening. He also did plenty of smiling, though not for these photos. I think he has recovered better than he lets on.

Groom Doom

Don't you love my fluffy curls these days? My fur has grown nice and long. I think it should grow even longer. That would look really stylish. Every poodle should have long long curls and let their fur grow out for several years.

Mom's note: Teddy will be going to the groomers tomorrow. Definitely.

**sigh***

I REALLY hate going to that place. Mom gives me Rescue Remedy, but I still get super nervous. Being forced to take a bath and get clipped is just not my thing.

Great Weekend

We enjoyed a weekend of beautiful weather, which is unusual where we live. Mom, CC-man and I spent lots of time outside enjoying it. Silly lazy Mom forgot to take photos of us in the sunshine, and didn't remember to pick up her camera till this evening, so here's a picture of me indoors. Oh well, at least you can see me smile again!

Mom and I took a long walk in the forest preserve. T-man used to enjoy walks there too.

My Smile

Hi friends!! Sorry I haven't been updating my blog or visiting your blogs lately. We've got lots of catching up to do. No excuses lazy Mom, OK?

Mom wanted me to post my smiling face. She calls it my "million dollar" smile and makes her happy whenever she sees it. I hope it makes you smile too!

Our Weekend Together

Mom, it's nice outside

Angel T-man is here too

The weather is perfect

CC-man says get cracking and get out here

Mom was a bit sad this weekend thinking about what happened one year ago when she lost T-man. We all tried to cheer her up, including Angel T-man. We enjoyed our weekend out on our balcony.

CC-man especially enjoys being on the balcony because he can visit with his cockatiel girlfriend, Sunny, who lives in the next building. She sits on her balcony and they can see each other.

CC-man on Vacation, or Wordy Wednesday

My friends Aki and Poopie were asking how CC-man is doing, so I thought I'd post a short video of him having a few things to say while on vacation. He got to sit in his cage outside all day enjoying the fresh air.

I noticed a lot of my friends posting "Wordless Wednesday" messages. I guess this is a "Wordy Wednesday" post.

What I Was Doing Yesterday

Some doggies guessed right about what I was doing in my last post. I was chomping on my stuffie!!! It was my favorite...my bunny. Mom's note: I keep forgetting to drop it in the wash, but I'm sure Teddy likes it the way it is.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Things I Did Today

Guess what I'm doing in this picture?

This weekend I had my second training session to learn the invisible fence thing in Grandma's backyard. Mom has me learning it so I don't accidentally run into the road someday. I promised her it wouldn't happen, but Mom doesn't trust me.

Today Mom was upset when she saw someone had left their little dachshund pup in a hot car. It was 92 degrees outside and the sun was shining on the car. Mom called the police and sort of yelled at the owner when she got back. The owner drove away before the police arrived. We don't think the police will follow up because they didn't want to come out in the first place, but Mom insisted. Mom hopes that she, and another lady who stopped by to help, made the mean owner think about what she did. I don't know why people can't learn these simple things, and why they don't care. Mom's note: Ironically, the owner was shopping at a pet store picking out toys for her dog. She could have easily brought her dog into that shop according to the store manager.

Please help greyhounds in the Philippines

My friend, Moy, from the Animal Doctor, told me about a disturbing law (House Bill 5291) that may pass in the Philippines allowing a company called Fox New Millenium Amusement Club Inc. to operate a greyhound race track in the province of Cebu, Philippines.

Moy told us the following:

"...there are still many homeless and neglected dogs out there who end up being murdered in pounds or in slaughterhouses of dog meat traders. Our government does not punish puppy millers, regulate pet ownership, or set aside funds for free spay and neuter of pet animals. Our dog pounds do not even have enough funds for euthanasia so dogs are electrocuted or buried alive. Now, for some lawmakers to even propose the operation of greyhound racing in our country, is just outrageous."

Moy says this bill is in the Senate for a second reading and may become law very soon.

If you have some time to spare, he is asking us to e-mail each of the senators below to urge them to vote AGAINST House Bill 5291:

Save a Dog

I want to introduce you to Annie. She's a part schnauzer part poodle baby that needs a home. She's living in Missouri which is the place where I was born. Mom thinks she looks just like I do. Anyway, Mom is "fostering" her through Save a Dog on Facebook.

Save a Dog awards people points for fostering dogs online, petting your dogs, inviting people to co-foster, etc. This application helps homeless dogs by donating one cup of food when users reach 2,500 points.

We hope Save a Dog helps more homeless dogs find homes too. We wish we could adopt some of those doggies right now. I think Annie and I would look cute together, don't you?

PS: Do you think I might be part schnauzer too?

Are we related?

Pee-Ess: We just got word that Annie was adopted to a family!! YEAH!!

Let's Give the Cats Their Day

My friends Phantom and Thunder told me that today was International World Cat Day. Though amazed to hear that cats are allowed to have their own day, I felt it necessary to celebrate since two of my aunts are cats.

Aunt Smokey

Aunt Sara

To begin the celebrations, I went to Grandma's house and chased my aunts all around the house. They hissed and swatted at me, and we all had a great time. Mom's note: It's just puppy play with Teddy; he's nice to his aunt kitties

Here I am posing with some of my cat buddies. They don't mind when I bite them and drag them around. These guys are true friends.

Teddy and his cat friends

To round up the festivities, I'm re-posting a video of me playing with Aunt Smokey. She used to sleep in my carrier and I had to "re-locate" her every morning.

Hope everyone enjoyed the special day!!

Scary Water Monster

Since sitting on the float didn't work out, I spent my time patrolling the beach. Here's a video of me guarding our beach from a scary water monster. Later I found out it was just my Uncle Jim, but I couldn't take any chances at the time.

Floating on the Lake...not for me

One thing about vacation that I never got used to was floating on the lake. T-man Angel just loved floating. He never missed an opportunity.

Angel floating with his Uncle

I got kind of nervous. Here I am hanging on to Uncle for balance.

Don't tip over!

Here's a video of me floating near the end of our ride. I was whining at the end because I wanted to get off the float.

I prefer staying on land keeping the shore free from bugs. I don't understand this water thing yet.

My Canoeing

T-man Angel told me all about how he would go canoeing every evening on vacation. He said I could borrow his lifevest and that it'd be fun.

Is this the canoe?

**PSST, this is T-man Angel. The canoe looks like this**

Thanks T-man, I found it!!

Mom put the lifevest on me and it fit just fine though I'm a bit smaller than T-man.

How do I look, T-man?

OK, let's get started

Here we go!!

There's so much to look at

Different texture and color of the water

Here's our place viewed from the lake

Even further out

And at sunset

After our canoe ride, we watched the sunset from the dock.

Mom's note: Teddy was a perfect boy in the canoe. He really seemed to enjoy the scenery. I told him it was like taking a walk without having to move your legs.

Patrolling my Beach

One of the things I loved best about vacation was playing by the lake. The shoreline was completely mine, and the water was so clear.

See my rocks in the water

One problem that kept me busy was that a bunch of annoying dragonflies and other bugs who kept trying to use my beach.

Stay away!!

I need to patrol my beach

It will keep me busy all day

Mom's note: If you look closely at the last photo, you will see some ducks swimming past. I don't think Teddy even noticed them.

I'm Back from My First Vacation

Hi friends, I'm back from my first real official vacation and boy oh boy, was it great!! The place we stayed at was a cabin on a lake in Michigan. The cabin was on its own little peninsula which means I had more room to run around and still be on the property. Mom let me run off leash most of the time. I got to splash around by the beach chasing bugs, and I got to sniff all the yummy nature smells in the brush.

When we were driving to the cabin, Mom said I looked really scared and my eyes were big. I just didn't want to let her know that T-man Angel had told me the secret already so her surprise wouldn't be ruined. I think she believed I was surprised when we got there. Mom said I was a super good traveller in the car and she was really proud of me.

Here I am inspecting the lake from our dock.

World's best traveller

World's best traveller posing with his mom

I can get used to this life

Since Mom took lots of pictures and videos, I'll save the rest for later.

Mom's note: Teddy seemed somewhat depressed to come home from vacation yesterday, so today I took him to Grandma's and let him run free in the backyard. I think that cheered him up.

Whispers from T-man Angel

Mom's been busy moving things around our house and putting stuff in bags. She even took some bags down to the car. One bag had my treats and CC-man's treats inside so I was trying to get inside it, but she took it away from me.

Something's up...

Psst....this is T-man Angel....
You and CC-man are going on a great big trip tomorrow.
You're going to LOVE it!!

Ooh really??? Thanks T-man Angel!!

My First Birthday Party

Today was the BIG day that I was so looking forward to. Mom even had the day off work because her company knew it was my birthday and our country's birthday tomorrow too.

I made sure to wake Mom up extra early at 5:43AM to get a start on our day by bringing my toys up on the bed and tossing them around, jumping around growling and whining, and licking Mom's face to get her moving. Mom was kind of crabby and went back to bed after we took our long morning walk.

After our breakfast, Mom let me open one present.

Oh, puhleez can I open it??

I just can't wait!

Ooh it's a plastic pig that makes loud squeaky sounds.

Hi Mr. Pig

Thanks Mom, I love squeaky toys!!

In the evening, we went to Grandma's for a special birthday celebration. I got to open my presents from Grandma before dinner.

** reading Grandma's birthday card to me**

Ooh, what did Grandma buy for me??

WOW, it's a soccer ball AND a football!!! Grandma knows what kinds of toys boys like.

See my football?

See my soccer ball?

I love these toys Grandma!!

I got to have dinner in the dining room next to Mom's chair since it was a special day. For dessert, we had my birthday cake which was a special cake for doggies that is "human grade" so our people can enjoy it too. Why are people so picky about their food?

My cake!!

Here's my cake with one candle because I'm one year old.

Here I am with a birthday hat. T-man Angel said that he and Uncle Sammi had to wear those hats on their birthday too.

How do I look, T-man??

Next everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. Mom told me to make a wish and helped me blow out the candle.

Next we got to eat!! The cake was so yummy that I ate every crumb and even had a second helping.

Then I got to finish opening my presents. Here's a present sent all the way from the Philippines from my friends Moy Moy, Trudis, Jappy, Woody, Scarlet, and Bambi who live with the Animal Doctor. They were so nice to think of me and go to all that trouble to sent me presents from so far away.

Ooh, what's inside here??

Wow, my very own lobster!!

Can I eat this for dinner??

Mom said that this lobster was just for chewing, not for eating. It's braided, so will be good for me to chew, and there's no stuffing for me to swallow.

My friends also sent me a pecan cashew goody. It looks scrumptious but Mom said I shouldn't have any tonight after eating all that cake. We can try it tomorrow.

Ooh, this smells good

Thanks pups of the Animal Doctor. I love my pressies!!

My next present was some beef flavored toothpaste.

Yum, my favorite flavor

What's in my next package?? It looks purple...

Ooh, it's a bungee gecko!!

Mom says let's open the next present

Mmmm chick'n stix treats....

Here's my last present

Wow, it's a toy donkey just like T-man had!!

It makes donkey sounds and everything...I love it!!

Thanks everyone for a wonderful birthday party!!

Puppy Days

Well, it looks like according to the poll, I most resemble Kevin Jonas, but people leaving comments say I look most like Joe. Those Jonas brothers would be lucky to get such a good looking guy like me in their group.

Anyway, now that my one year birthday is approaching, I'm taking advantage to act as much like a puppy as possible before time runs out. I've been running around like crazy, stealing clothes & shoes, and chewing up tissues.

Mom has been preparing me for the transition by mixing some adult food in with my puppy food. She feeds me Buffalo Blue food. We are trying the fish flavor adult food, but I don't like it. I like the chicken mix or lamb mix better, Mom!!

Tomorrow is the big day when I turn one year old. Guess I'll start having to act mature soon, whatever that means..

Jonas Brother Look-a-like

Mom was watching Larry King Live last night where the Jonas brothers were being interviewed. Since Mom is old and doesn't know what's really important in the world these days, she didn't know much about those brothers. But she did notice that they reminded her of someone.....ME!!! They all have curly black hair just like I do.

Which brother do you think I look like the most??

PS: I wonder if they hate getting their hair combed as much as I do?

Why I Hide

Some of you asked why I went to my hiding place when Mom got my harness. The reason was because it was Monday morning, and I knew after we went to Grandma Daycare, Mom would go to work. I just didn't want to be separated from Mom. It's really tough for us on Monday mornings.

By the way, I've found a way to get to my hiding spot. I just climb through CC-man's cabinet!! I went there tonight when Mom wanted to wash my feet after my walk, and when she tried to comb me this morning. I think I'm driving Mom crazy.

Farewell to Chloe

We were so sad to hear that a birdie member of the 4-B's family passed away today. Her name was Chloe and she was 9 years old, which isn't that old in parrot years. She had been sick recently, and finally passed on to the bridge. Now she can fly free and strong.

CC-man is feeling pretty depressed right now. He has never lost one of his birdie friends before. He says we need to appreciate each and every day we have together.

Mom's note: What a beautiful bird she was!! Her gorgeous colors in this photo brighten up this page.

Foiled!!

OK, so Mom got really upset with me on Monday morning when we had to leave for Grandma Daycare because I hid behind CC-man's cage instead of letting her put my harness on. Well, what did she expect?? That's why they call it a "hiding place"!!

Mom got fed up and blocked off my hiding place like this:

Someone call the ASPCA!!

Don't look at me... I don't have a phone!

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how to outsmart Mom.

My Hiding Place

I've been using my new hiding place a lot lately. It's perfect because when I'm back here, Mom can't get her hands on me and make me do things.

For example, whenever Mom picks up the brush I run and hide. Note from Mom: I tried Waverly's idea of using a slicker brush, but Teddy doesn't like it either. I've even been hiding when Mom wants to wash my feet or put my harness on. Mom's note: I may need to block off his hiding place soon!

Can you see me hiding back here?

CC-man has been better about letting me use his area as a hideout. Maybe because he's been busy stuffing his beak with pasta all weekend.

Buon appetito!!

I'm Eleven Months Old!!

Hey everyone, come celebrate with me on my 11 month old birthday!!!

Wow, I'm feeling so grown up these days. I've gotten so big that Grandma told me I was a full grown dog. Mom still feeds me puppy food though. That's alright, I like it!

This last month I learned some new things like how to hide from Mom behind CC-man's cage. I go there immediately when she picks up the brush or comb. It has been a lifesaver. I also learned how to tear apart my stuffed toys and throw the stuffing all over the room. T-man Angel taught me this trick. Mom's note: T-man must have shown him how to do that because he didn't learn it from me, or another doggie.

Next month I'll be officially all grown up. Mom says we'll have a real live party. My birthday is one day before our country's birthday, so we can celebrate together. I hope my country likes cake and ice cream too!

Perfect Weather

Today we had perfect spring weather. Not too hot, not too cold, and really sunny. Mom brought her camera on my morning walk, but didn't have the batteries charged enough so only got one (not so good) picture of me. Too bad!

We spent much of the day on our deck relaxing. Here I am getting relaxed.

And here's my full relaxation pose.

Mom got a good picture of CC-man's feathers in the sun. He actually looks like he's thinking in this picture, but I know he's just dreaming of food.

Where's my egg biscuit??

My Weekend

My weekend started off really good. Mom and I took a super-long morning walk, then she gave me a bath. Really, honest, I didn't mind!! I like being in the bathtub.

Then, things got ugly when Mom got out the comb.

No, please not that!

You see, I don't mind getting a bath, but I HATE getting combed!! There's nothing worse in the entire world.

** feeling nausea**

My only option was to retreat to my hiding place behind CC-man's cage.

I'm safe here!

MOM!!! Teddy's hiding behind my cage!!

OK, CC-man got me busted so I got dragged out and combed. Mom had to wrestle with me to get my curls combed. It was a tough battle, but here I am combed (**ugh**)

** feeling defeated**

Mom felt bad for spoiling my weekend, so she made CC-man (traitor!) and me some hard-boiled eggs.

OK Mom, I forgive you!!

I put on my "sad serious" face to score some eggs. This was something T-man Angel taught me.

give me eggs give me eggs give me eggs

Here's how T-man showed me...

** sad serious look --> eggs**

Mom gave me most of one egg. That pesky CC-man got his share too. He doesn't eat as much as me, and nibbles WAY too slowly and it makes me impatient because I want him to hurry up so I can get more. Mom holds the egg for that lazy bird so her hands are busy doing that instead of feeding me.

Afterwards, we all relaxed on our deck.

Ahhh, this feels good

We love spring!!!

Enjoying Spring

video

Here's a video of me enjoying Grandma's lawn this spring. I just love to sit and feel the sun on my back and the breeze on my face. Don't mind Mom's silly calling, or the sound of the train in the background. Just enjoy the morning with me!

Mom's note: If that wonderful rescue group hadn't saved Teddy from the puppy mill, he'd have never known the feel of grass under his feet, or the sun or wind. I'm forever thankful for those rescue people and all they do.

My Flowers

Hi everyone!! The weather has been really great here the past few days. Mom, CC-man and I have been spending time on our deck.

Fresh air smells so good!!

Take a look at my flowers!! They suddenly appeared on the deck this weekend.

Wow, where did these come from??

Here are some red ones that will attract hummingbirds.

My bunny had fun nestling in the flowers.

Shh...I'm hiding from Teddy

Hee hee, silly bunny I see you!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Grandma told me that today was a very important day called "Mother's Day". It's a day when I get to show my appreciation for all the nice things Mom does for me. Grandma helped me buy a card for Mom.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!!

CC-man and I bought Mom some flowers too. Mom helped us pick them up from the store.

Thanks, Mom!!

PS: CC-man was extra crabby today and did lots of screaming. I guess he still doesn't understand what the day is all about.

Skinny Pig

My pig has gotten awfully skinny in the past few months. I'm kind of worried about him. It's too late to see a vet tonight, so I'll try to take care of him myself.

This patient needs snacks right now!!

Mom's note: Teddy has started ripping holes in his toys the way T-man did. I make sure to throw the fluff away so he can't swallow it.

Meet My New Frog

Today Mom went to Petsmart which means that CC-man and I got some new toys. CC-man got a thing he can chew that hangs in his cage. He's scared of it so hasn't played with it yet. My toy is this new frog. See how he posed nicely for this picture.

Mom's note: I had to hold Teddy's frog up near the ceiling to avoid him grabbing at it so I could get a decent photo.

Hi Mr. Frog!!

Now let's get a photo of the two of us together...

Oops, too much me and not enough frog

Whoops, too much frog and not enough me

Oops, my frog looks uncomfortable here

There, a perfect shot!!!....(of me, anyway)

I think my frog is a bit tired since it's his first day home. We'll give him a rest for the evening.

Spring is here and I'm 10 months old!!

Finally finally finally....SPRING IS HERE!!!! The flowers are out, and the grass is green. Mom and I have seen violets, daffodils, tulips and we even saw some bluebells. I've been getting long walks and took my first walk through the woods this afternoon. Lazy Mom didn't bring her camera on our walks, so you'll have to settle for a picture of me posing on my deck. I've asked Mom to bring her video camera to Grandma's tomorrow so you can see me romping through the grass and chomping the dandelions.

We almost forgot that it's my 10 month old birthday today!! Since it's the weekend, we're not looking at the calendar a lot today, so almost missed it. Today I had to take my Heartgard, and I took the pill with no problem. That's because I'm 10 months old, and much more mature than I was last month when I tossed the pill around the floor.

Funny Teddy

When we arrived home after Teddy's obedience class graduation, he ran off into the house and disappeared. I called for him, but he didn't respond. Then I found him standing in the bathtub. He was obviously thirsty, so had jumped in himself figuring he could get a drink. I wash his feet everytime we return from a walk.

How many of you pups actually jump into the bathtub? Teddy's quite the character!
